[Blockchain News] 1. Chainflix AI-based distributed storage system in the era of Web 3.0
Dear Chainflix Members,
We would like to introduce the technique of Chainflix that is related to “Web 3.0”, a hot topic in the recent blockchain industry.
Blockchain news with Chainflix!
As you know that Chainflix team developed Chainflix based on Distributed Storage and we also know that Distributed Storage is the most important part of Web 3.0.
Therefore, we will introduce “Web 3.0 and Distributed Storage” in the first part.
First of all, what is the Web 3.0?
The 1990s saw the emergence of Web 1.0, representing the origin of the Internet. This was made up of static, read-only web pages created exclusively by a few developers. The website is only readable(news, simple information page).
By the 2000s, Web 2.0 emerged. Its first iteration involved a single flow of information from the web publisher to the user, but its more advanced version allows significantly more interaction and participation. The website is readable as well the user can create it. (Social networking service — But centralized).
And the Web 3.0 reached is a more personalized and customized web with an AI-based decentralized structure. The website is readable, creatable and users own control over it. (AI-based — technology, decentralized storage, users monetize their data, semantic web …)
Advantages of distributed storage
Storage literally means ‘storage’ or ‘storage space’.
Existing platforms have stored user data on a central server.
However, there were big drawbacks to storing and processing all the data in this central server.
If the centralized server fails, the operation of the service can be disrupted.
For example, on December 14, 2021, the Google search engine suffered a server problem, and related YouTube, Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Drive all stopped working.
In addition, if the physical distance between the server and the user is long, communication efficiency may decrease, and information may be censored by the platform.
In other words, it can be linked to issues such as privacy leaks and privacy violations at any time.
On the other hand, blockchain technology can be the key to solving these problems.
Decentralized storage running on a blockchain can store data on distributed nodes in different locations.
This allows data to be quickly stored in a space close to the user, as opposed to the traditional storage of sending files to a central network and then storing them.
As Web 3.0 is a topic that the world is paying attention to, many blockchain-based distributed storage businesses are emerging.
However, there are not many platforms that have actually been commercialized.
In the next post, we will look at the distributed storage of Chainflix, which is becoming practically commercialized.
